Sukie and Jess

These are our next door neighbours new kittens and they are utterly adorable. Our neighbours work during the day and can only get back briefly to give the kittens lunch, and they only got them from Cats Protection at the weekend, so they wondered if mum and I would be up for occasional daytime visits. We've been asked if we wouldn't mind going over to keep them company for a wee while and playing with them a bit.
("So....let me get this straight, you are asking me to come and play with your kittens? Whenever I want? For as long as I want? Hmmmmm, obviously I'm going to have to give this some consideration!")

It's such a chore, a real hardship, as you can imagine.... ;o)

The all black one is Sukie and the one with white paws is Jess. I think they may have been poking fun at her new dad when they named her Jess. He's a teacher at the local school and bares a striking resemblence to Postman Pat (seriously, we used to call him that when I was at school there and that was a long time ago! Thankfully he doesn't seem to mind that each new generation of pupils also see the likeness). Now when the kids shout "do you have a black and white cat called Jess too Sir?!" he'll be able to say, "well actually, yes I do!" and "now you have detention!".
I'm joking, I'm sure he wouldn't, he's awfully nice even if somewhat disappointingly he isn't really a postman :)
