bonkers conkers!!!

we have a beautiful horse chestnut tree at the end of our road, Steve was out working all day, so i loaded the girls into wheelchair and buggy pod and took Jonny, Annie and Rosie out to see if we could collect any fallen conkers.

we found 3 all in their cases still and Jonny was very excited to see them as i pulled apart their spiky protection to reveal their beautiful shiny secret!

rosie was uber interested too...but she just wanted to eat them!!!

Annie wasn't too fussed, but she got very excited when Daddy pulled alongside us in the van!

sadly the leaves were in a very sorry state with disease and i fear for the future of this tree :(
