On the eastern side of the fjord coming into Bergen over here in Norway lies Bryggen. This series of wonky wooden warehouses that line the wharf is the oldest part of the city. It's very special, a fact not missed by UNESCO or the location scouts from New Line when they came looking for a home for the mighty talking panserbjørn Iorek Byrnison in 'The Golden Compass'.
