Up Cork!!!
What a bizarre day - even by West Cork standards. Hectic, full day at school - the highlight of which was making bird feeders - as I left ladened with birdseed, peanut butter and fir cones, Himself remarked that I never learned did I! Well, no ... too late for that. Bird feeders are in theory remarkably easy to make - take 1 fir cone, smear with peanut butter, then dip in bird seed., attach string, hang up et voila loads of happy birds. It was the peanut butter bit causing Himself concern and quite rightly - the smallest little boy proceeded to eat far more than was possible, ghastly thoughts of peanut allergies suddenly coming upon me far too late! We all survived and the feeders are now hanging proudly!
In the evening we wanted to go to the cinema but then heard that the newly won football cup plus squad were arriving in Bantry at 7pm - 20,000 were expected! We bit the bullet and decided to go in early, see the cup, go to the cinema! Kind of worked, though nothing happens on time. There was a great family atmosphere with everyone from babies upwards sporting Cork kit. These two little lads were having a brilliant time.
The film His and Hers, was wonderful - 90 mini-interviews with Irish females from little girls through to 90 year olds on the subject of their men!! Very poignant. Too tired to blip when I got home so now catching up!
