The (not so) quiet life

Sock Mountain

The weather today has been truly horrible and still without a car we decided we'd best stay put and tackle some of the housework that's been put off for months. This included sorting out all the clothes that are too small for the girls and sorting out the odd socks. Forget your proper job and mortgages I think that owning an odd sock basket is one of the main signs of being a proper grown up. My collection is particularly impressive.

One of the other jobs for today was making a reward chart for Abigail. Her behaviour has been a little bit off the wall recently so we have drawn a reward chart in the shape of a house and when she manages to get all the bricks coloured in she gets to choose herself a dolls house. The turn around in behaviour has been monumental. She has tidied her own room, Katys toys, helped sort out the clothes and bake some bread. The only problem now is deciding how much we can capitalise on the new found enthusiasm without crossing over into exploitation- is getting her to scrub the toilet and take out the bins a step too far!?

Not one to be outdone this photo is of Katy helping to sort the socks.
