A rose for my rose....

Went to lay some flowers on Mum's grave today. She's over 100 miles from where we live and the traffic was a real ball ache today so it took us over 3 hours to get there.

Her favourites were Freesias but we couldn't find any so we settled for the pink roses.
I can't believe it's been a year. The ground is still soft and the little marker looks lost amongst the headstones. We've ordered a stone but can't understand how the council can charge £173 to lay a paving slab for it to stand on!

We saw my grandparents grave and my primary school friend's...he died at 38.
I think Dad got a bit down, not just because of Mum, but because he knows he's likely to be next....not for a few years we hope.
Just after we left dad's it started to rain and is persisted down all the way home, I've missed the reunion, and tomorrow the rain is going to stay all day. Still the weatherman says it will be fine on Monday, just in time for me to go back to work, oh goody.
