Not Quite Monaco
A late start to the day as himself went on his monthly banking excursion so I had a leisurely travel into town on public transport. I acquired a travelling companion on the way. Suffice it to say if half the tales of medical disasters which have happened to her family in the past 5 years are true, then she has had an ill blessed life. I am assuming she failed to notice my normal anti people signals at the bus stop this morning
So arriving at 9:30, it was a quick flurry with the computer and by 10 time for the weekly get together over bacon butties. A quick flick through a troublesome balance sheet and some phonecalls took me to lunchtime
Bereft of my usual lunchmates who are currently on some far flung island (Orkney/Shetland??) teaching our colleagues in the Highlands and Islands how to work the system, I wandered up to the other end of the quay
Its not quite Monaco - we have the North Carr lightboat which was bought the other week for the princely sum of £1 by a company who now have to find 500,000 to do it up and we have a proper yacht or whatever it is you call these type of boats!! Thats it! Nothing else and the "yacht"only arrived last week.
I hear from my sandwich lady at the Cafe Cressy that its owner is a Dundonian who normally lets it out for the winter. It has engine problems so its been moored up for the winter instead. It caused quite a stir last week as we don't see many boats come in and even fewer have to have the bridge raised!
