Today we accompanied my daughter to her kindergarten orientation where she got to meet her teacher and her classmates and see her class for the first time. She's been looking forward to starting kindergarten all summer, but today she was definitely reserved, clingy, and even a bit teary. It was unusual for her -- she never acted that way in nursery school. I'm sure it was all a bit overwhelming.

A while ago, inspiredesigns mentioned that she got a charm for her son who is also starting school. I loved the idea, so I had one made up for my daughter to remind her that she is always our "little bird," our nickname for her since birth. I thought today would be a good day to give it to her. She loved it, as I guessed she would.
