Jack's First Day of Preschool

Today was a very special day--after getting the other kids off to school, it was Jack's turn. He started Snell's Preschool today. For the longest time, he always insisted he wasn't going to school and was going to stay home with me "forever." Finally, after all the other kids reminisced about the fun they had at Snell's, he started to come around. It was about June that he seemed to accept that he was going to be going to school and as it got closer, there was a bit of anticipation and excitement brewing on his part. He thoroughly enjoyed packing his "snack" for school the night before and was ready wearing SOCKS with his tennis shoes. Jack really prefers going sockless but his sisters have had it with the stench of his sweaty little boy feet and tennis shoes and told him it was a "school rule" that all little boys must wear socks with their shoes at Snell's. He bought it after having it "confirmed" at his 4 year physical with Dr. Billingmeier that a lot of schools have this rule. We picked out some cool new socks that are camoflauge on the bottom that he seems to like.

Jack was in Blue Room today. Doug and I dropped him off and though there were no tears or pleas to stay, he seemed to wander aimlessly around the room, not sure what to do during "free choice" time.

I returned a few minutes early for pick up in order to check on him through their special windows. He had relaxed and was thoroughly enjoying himself with several other little boys. He happily chatted the whole way home about his day.

This blip was taken of Jack in the morning before leaving for school. I can safely say he loves school and I guess he won't be staying home with me "forever."
