The Loard's Throat?
I believe I mentioned Aberdeenshire's picturesquely-named Lord's Throat Road in a previous entry in this journal a few days ago.
Signage at the eastern (Blairdaff/Kemnay/Monymusk) end of the road has always been somewhat tenuous, but matters took a bizarre turn earlier this week when these signs appeared on Monday identifying it as the 'Loard's Throat'!
We think a clerical error in Aberdeenshire Council's road sign manufacturing facility was responsible for this - whoever wrote the order would appear to have been confused by the quite genuine 'oa' letter combination in the word 'Throat'.
P.S. to add to the irony of all this, the spelling of the place name on the top sign is absolutely correct, although it is actually pronounced "Chapel of Geary"!
