Northern Exposure

Friend or foe

It was Campbell's birthday yesterday and I forgot to take any pictures in all the hullabaloo. Afraid we were too busy having fun.

This morning when asked to go and put some socks on (he prefers none, we prefer to prolong the life of shoes as long as possible) he told me to look at his feet. To my astonishment they were encased in clean socks. As I picked myself up off the floor he told me 'I'm eleven now and have to be responsible.'

Surely not?

This is the child who when he started pre-school came home every day with tales of being pushed and shoved and called names by someone called Orange. Worried, we approached his teacher who was perplexed as not only was there no child with the name, or nickname, or even who might possibly vaguely resemble an orange but our little darling was as happy as a sandboy every minute he was there. When we quizzed Campbell later he admitted that Orange was his imaginary enemy.
