Where be whales?

Steven called when he got to work this morning to say he'd spotted a Minke whale in Scapa Flow, just off the 1st Churchill Barrier. I was about to go out for a cycle, so headed that way.

It might have still been there but if it was, it was hiding from me. I hung about for a while and stopped at a couple of different places but there was nothing bigger than some scarfies and gannets to be seen.

I think the folk in that wee boat might have been looking for the same beastie as they were drifting about for quite a while, staring at the sea. Then again, they might just have been drifting about and staring at the sea.
