Pygmy Shrew

Sorry - it's not alive any more. It was dead when I found it - honest! Not a sign of injury on it and it was just lying in the middle of the garden path. They are so small, I love its tiny feet too.

Ah well, enough of dead rodents! Spent the rest of the day in the garden tidying up after the gales. Lots of taller plants, hollyhocks and achillia, had blown over and needed re-staking, other plants had to be cut back and put on the compost heap. Cut the grass too, hopefully the last cut of the year, hurray! Also harvested the last of the tomatoes.

In fact, if I hadn't come across this little chap, you would have had a bowl of tomatoes blip!
