Cairngorm Mountain

Max had been very keen to go up the Cairngorm Funicular Railway so today was the day. I remember it being built and at the time I hated the idea of transporting tourists up a mountain. My experience justified that earlier feeling. I felt a bit of a tourist being processed as we were driven up to the top of a mountain on a train, sent via the shop and restaurant to the tiny 'viewing platform' (even though the view was great - just not well-earned), then back in the train to go back down again. Max on the other hand couldn't have cared less and thought it was great. Having had difficulties with the pronunciation of this type of train, he decided on calling it the 'up train'. Fair enough!
