BLACK BUGS

Got to work this morning and there were half a dozen or so of these on the window, thankfully on the outside. As the day progressed I got up to a count of 42. Then browsing I came across After the Rain's entry from yesterday, and they mentioned what seemed to be the same invasion. Maybe it's a Pennine beastie. I looked in my book when I got home and came up with Biblio hortulanus, which has " a stout spur on the front leg". Hope I'm right, otherwise it's a fever-fly which sounds positively plague-like.
