Stile: Sheepshead Way
Will is now here, equipped with a massive lense ready for some serious blipping. See crabtree for the fruits of his labour.
Weather holding out so we went for a long walk up into the mountain. We are lucky enough to have the Sheepshead Way on our doorstep - a 70 km trek which has just own a European award. You can do bits of it, or a loop like this. It is beautifully kept - well signposted, with stiles like this one to help you over ancient walls or dodgy bits of bog. This part of the walk feels wonderfully remote. We met no-one, only a herd of curious cows and a white cat. The heather and gorse is out in a blaze of colour and large amounts of blackberries were consumed. It is an ancient landscape though, full of signs of the past - old cottages, burial sites, standing stones. Magical.
