colours & smells

Just a quicky as it's too nice to be in pouring over a computer. Gorgeous day and the flowers in the garden are still hanging on in there, some wonderful colours and smells.
Just had a last lunch out with a friend - last because all the cafes are closing around here for the winter. It was wonderful to sit outside, eat spinach tart and have a glass of wine, watching the world go by. It was very busy and interesting as a cycling holiday group from Spain and America were also lunching in their lycra!

Will is arriving shortly for a last blast of Ireland before he too starts work on Monday. Himself is on airport duty.
Tonight is the Ladies Book Club. We shall be discussing Everything is made of Glue by Marina Lewynska (something like that) which I hated; and Troubles by JG Farrell which I enjoyed and was a bit mystified by. My recommended book is Room by Emma Donoghue - an astonishing book, very unusual and extremely well written.
