Joe's Blips

The Answer

So, here we have the answer to yesterday's puzzle. Hands up all those who thought it was done with mirrors! Now, give yourselves half a pat on the back for almost getting it right. As you will see from the blip there really is very little to it but a lot to be had out of it. Indeed it is likely that you ciold shoot 50 straight photos in a row and never have any two identical.

Materials Required : A piece of self adhesive aluminium foil. If you know what "contact" or clear schoolbook acetate is then you know what to get. This is the same product as used to cover counter tops etc but obviously in a foil or mirror finish. Normally used by peeling off its backing and adhering to something but for our purposes we leave it unpeeled. Make a tube of your piece and hold togethet with adhesive tape. Job done! Cooking foil doesn't work. For a start you won't be able to make a tube out of it and in any case it will srumple too easily.
How to Use : As in the blip. Poke your camera lens into the tube and shoot. By squeezing your tube slightly you will distort the image in hundreds of ways, hence you will get a different result each time

What sould be simpler than that? Great for making zany photos out of ordinary mundane objects. Have fun everybody!!
