King's Wicket
This is Hadrian's Wall just east of Housesteads Roman Fort. Here the wall heads north and east as it climbs up on to Sewingshields Crag to resume it's east-west orientation.
It was a lovely sunrise this morning, but all the colour was just out of shot. I thought I'd been really clever and picked a stretch where the sun would hit the wall at an angle, instead of rising straight into the lens, but I didn't account for the less colourful sky that I would be facing.
