Jump!

back-blipped

Ben still loves jumping. He found a little steep slope to jump down with daddy :)

Camping has been good. Weather stayed fine, although MAN did it get cold on Friday night. The moon came out and the stars shone and we drank wine and ate cheesecake by (paraffin) candlelight until midnight. Then we tried to get warm in our tents. It was Very Cold.

The morning came far too early and covered the field in dew, it looked like it had frozen overnight - it certainly felt like that although I doubt it actually got that cold. Beautiful autumn morning. I've just had to check the date to make sure that yes, it is still August. Still, technically, summer...

Ben normally gets up around 8.30am. We usually make it down for breakfast by 9.30, 9 if we're doing well. This morning he heard the other tots wake up at 6.30am. "Nani! Nani! Nani!" And so eventually we gave up and got out of bed into the chill morning air. The whole day has been out by 2 hours by my body clock.

Went on a bike ride after breakfast, nearly killed me! (I must make an appointment to see a doctor next week, I had a cough last week and although it's gone away I'm having trouble with my chest and breathing which is quite annoying. I still blame the icing sugar.) Was lovely though, to get out, to be with friends, all the kiddies on their respective bike seats / carriers.

More friends came for the afternoon, some are staying overnight. I still can't believe that we were in bed after the barbecue and after watching the stars and the satellites and playing with fire and wood and saws and marshmallows by 10.30pm.

10.30pm? I told you my clock must have been out by 2 hours.

More pictures from the weekend here.

Best ones:
One Man And His Fire

Woodcutting(We sawed some wood down to size to fit into the small barbecue. It took a couple of firelighters, several dropped marshmallows, and a generous dollop of paraffin from a candle to eventually dry the wood out and get it lit. And then we went to bed instead of enjoying a log fire! D'oh)

Sunset

Pretty hard to choose "best" ones, as I like all the ones I've put on flickr quite a lot...
