Hylotelephium telephium

The name telephium refers to king Telefos in Greek mythology who would have used this flower to heal his wounds.
Tubers contain about 10% carbohydrate and has a nutty flavor. They can be eaten raw but should be boiled for 15 minutes. Fresh leaves is a good source of vitamin C and can be eaten fresh. This flower regards as one of the 14 most important wild plants in a survival situation. (Maybe good to know for some?).

I am glad these flowers are still in our garden, in spring the roe deer likes them very much. For the first time I bought a pot with a special mixture to keep the roe deer away and as you can see it worked!
