Un Four de Poterie
Amphoralis are the sinuous pottery pieces made in late BC and very early years AD for the transport of wine from Narbonne, an early Roman post, to as far north as the British Isles and down into what is now Turkey. This kiln is one of several that have been excavated, along with the beautiful amphoralis. Those are not within the realm of allowed photographs. I would urge you to look them up on Google and recognize the distinctive lovely shape. It was hot in Narbonne, very hot. Even the coastline of the Mediterrean was hot.
