Park Tai Chi

Lazy day, in the sense there was none of the running around of yesterday (I blipped yesterday earlier on today, and if you missed it I'd happily point you to check it out before reading on - I like the image for the day, and a few of the linked images a lot).

Instead there was a morning wander round the Figgy (decided on the Tai Chi shot instead of a Juvenile Gull (probably Lesser Black Backed) showing off his wingspan - the chap practicing the tai chi is there most Sundays, along with a couple of other members of his family, all serenely going about the business of keeping fit and healthy in a way distant from the joggers I encounter on the Water of Leith (path) of a lunchtime as they escape form behind the office desk to barge their way to delusions of superiority), which was a damned sight quieter than Duddingston Loch yesterday morning, but no worse for the peace and quiet. Searched out a Sunday paper on the way back to enjoy a relaxed brekkie before getting a stack of things done in the garden and in the house, pausing only for a couple of hours to watch us (us being Newcastle United - my hometown team I just can't shake off loving) win a remarkable match against Aston Villa 6-0. That's a scoreline from the heady 'entertainer' days of the 90s, and I just sat in the garden watching the match on my phone (it's a gadget-laden James Bond world we live in people - plus I don't have Sky tv in the house, just the Sky Sports tv app which is a damned sight cheaper every month and less intrusive into my life) laughing at the reversal in expectations for the day.

And so, Monday morning looms. Boo hiss.

I just made sure I watched Match of the Day 2 before blipping (streaming on the computer, James Bond world - I remember being astounded going to uni in '94 and coming into contact with the youthful 'world wide web' and seeing 'pictures' like you'd see in magazines on the computer screen loading in, ooh, a few minutes) and so maintaining that good feeling as long as possible.

Walking in a Carroll/Hughton wonderland!
