Le Sanctuaire dans le Roc

The image is of the entrance to the lovely sanctuary built into and on top of natural rock in about 1100. It has been added to over the years, but nothing seems in any sense modern; The grotto like spaces are barely lit, lending a sense of timeless mystery. This church is also a stop on the pilgrimage route to St. Jacques de Compostelle in Galicia, Spain at the far northwestern corner - a fair distance from here.
