tiananmen

Wow. Today's weather could not have been more different than yesterday. Glorious sunshine, warm and clear. Aren't I good for arranging it for C's birthday? We took Mandy to the airport this morning, had a little sofa time, then went to a great restaurant just south of Tiananmen Square for a terribly civilised birthday afternoon tea- sandwiches, scones and sweets. Had a short walk through the square and Zhongshan Park, and are now home trying not to think about work tomorrow.

Not sure it's the best photo, but I like it with the tiltshift effect. It's hard to capture the scale of the place, but this hints at it. Hard to believe its history on a beautiful day like today.
