Macchiato

A couple of weeks ago, two foster cats came to our home, as their people (their 'staff') were moving to Australia. The two one-year-old males (yes, they've been fixed!) are as different as night and day.

This is Macchiato, the extrovert, the lover-boy, the communicator who specializes in heart connection. He is the most loving and relaxed cat I've ever met. He gazes deep into your eyes with his agua green eyes wide open, for seconds on end, then slowly closes them.

His brother, Chai, the extremely introverted recluse, has decided he is exclusively an outdoor cat. He'll come and eat food I put out for him and he thanks me by leaving a dead rat at the bottom of the stairs to the garden. The first and second times, I almost screamed, having missed stepping on it by centimeters. Now I look for it. I know it is a gift from the shy guy.

I love how Macchiato in this photo looks weightless, as if he is floating. He makes me think of the letter C. This is another theme for now, it seems - though the picture I tried to post yesterday somehow bombed and didn't show. Check back if you're interested in more 'alphabetic' animals. Come to think of it, we all grew up with them, childrens-alphabet-books full of them, didn't we!
