Fall in Boise

This is an historic street in Boise. Lots of 1800's era Victorian style and Colonial homes on an "old growth" tree-lined avenue.

Got back from Miami yesterday. I didn't shoot many pictures, probably still a little fatigued from the pneumonia. It was also overcast and windy. We drove over to Ft. Myers to visit my wife's parents for a couple days then drove back to Miami for the Uruguay photo exhibit artist reception. Got a few snaps of alligators (always a treat, unless you live there, I suppose), but that was about it. The beaches on Sanibel and Captiva were closed due to a sewage spill, but I got a couple shots for my stock library of the warning signs.

We did get a treat. The 75th Federal Duck Stamp art contest was held on Sanibel Island while we were there and we stopped in the first day of judging to check it out.

We actually spent 2 days in Miami, mostly on South Beach in the Deco District. No photos there, however, due to poor light. In the past month I've put toes in the Pacific, the Atlantic, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Drivers in Miami are a bit nuts. No signals, no real appreciation of traffic lights or lanes. I saw a guy make a right turn from the left lane at a stop light right in front of a car in the right lane after the light turned green. Pedestrians are no better. I suppose it's to be expected. The driving and traffic attitude is very "Island" or "Latin". I've encountered the same thing in the Caribbean and in Central and South America. Nearly got into an accident twice with the rental car. That wouldn't have been fun. Drivers in Miami aren't defensive, they are assertive.

Anyway, we're back at home. It's 40 degrees cooler but 60% less humidity.
