Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

We exited the San Francisco Bay from the Oakland Airport mid-day with the temperature a mild 67 degrees F. Sixty minutes later we stepped back into the southern California climate where 96 degrees of summer warm, make that hot, welcomed us home.

This photo was taken by Mr. Fun, who loves the window seat, so Mrs. Fun is always polite and accomodates him; however, he was given the camera duty. So this is just after the pilot had rocketed off the tarmac. Quicker than we could say "Home!" he had turned that airplane over the San Francisco Bay and pointed us south. So we think this is looking down at land on the west side of the bay and the San Mateo Bridge. One of the northern California Bay area blippers can correct my geography guess if I've called it wrong.

Tap the magifying glass above to see this "big."

We've had a lovely week of "roadtrip" and enjoyed the journey completely. The combination of roadtrip north and flying home worked well for us.

We are glad to have arrived home to some summer temperatures because we now plan to spend my final days before returning to the classroom enjoying some moments on the southern Californian shoreline. We're going to squeeze the last bit of juice from summer's grapes and sip until it's gone.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
