Barcelona!

My week of wearing the Blip of The Week crown comes to an end between tonight and tomorrow. I wanted to end on a celebratory note and share something of Barcelona at its extravagant best. So, here is the Avenida Reina Maria Cristina complete with its Magic Fountains, taken from up on Montjuic with more fountains blasting skywards, reminding us, amongst other things, of the great excitement in the build up to the 1992 Olympic Games. It was here in 1988 that Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe sang that song 'Barcelona' at a concert organised to mark the arrival of the Olympic Flag from Seoul...few songs and few performances make my hair stand on end and bring a tear to my eye, but this is one...enjoy....'Barcelona' by Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe.
