This rather imposing lady is ready to party! The Fiesta Mayor de Gracia kicks off this evening with the pregón or opening speech in the Plaza de la Vila de Gracia (formerly Rius i Taulet). She is at least 8 feet tall and will be lifted up on a very strong man's shoulders (lost in her ample skirts) to parade and swirl through the streets in a long standing Catalan tradition of dancing gegants or giants!
