Cristina
August is quiet in Barcelona in our barrio as a lot of our neighbours go on holiday and there's still a tradition of the family owned shops and restaurants just closing their door and taking their annual holiday. Sundays are usually even quieter and that's why we were surprised this lunchtime to hear the sounds of a party coming from across our little street - Spanish music, laughter, corks popping and the sounds and smell of food being prepared. Bb and I were on our way out and passing the gate where it was all happening. I was just about to shout in and ask if it was someone's birthday when the Senora saw us, and before we knew it we were inside their little patio, glass of wine in hand, being introduced to the family and having some delicious barbecued meat 'forced' upon us! They're a Peruvian family and we've always greeted each other in the street before but never really chatted. They were getting together as extended family were here in Spain visiting. This pic is of Cristina, one of the daughters. We were invited to stay for lunch but were on our way out - Bb wanted to explore his blip site for tonight ;-) A return visit onto our patio is on the cards!
PS: thanks for all the congratulation messages for my recent sneaked-up-on-me 100 blips!
