World Pipe Band Championships 2010

Only one show in town today.

A record field of 239 bands made up of 8,000 pipers from 16 nations were taking part. A record crowd of around 40,000 was expected.

I was there for less than 2 hours but took 154 pictures. It can be a bit tricky at times because of all the crowds and because you don't want to distract the competitors or get in their way.

I also played around with some different type of shots but thought it best if I used one of a piper. Eventually went for this one as I was so impressed buy her effort and concentration. Hope she was a prize-winner.
