VBS - Day 1

I promise I've been taking pictures all week...it's just been kind of crazy with VBS stuff and my sister's sweet 16, so I haven't gotten a chance to post anything, but they are all going up now.

So VBS for those of you who may not remember is Vacation Bible School. My church has it every year for two weeks and I am a teacher there. We play games, sing songs, make crafts--it's a lot of fun! This year me and my co-teacher, Maria, had a third grade class of 11 girls and four boys. We also had four teacher aids to help us out.

Each day at VBS there is a different themed animal and word. Day one's word was trust, so we played a trust game. One kid was blindfolded and the other had to guide them around an obstacle course to the other side of the room where they had to put on a party hat and lei.

There was a lot of "come this way" and "okay, now walk towards me," which was really amusing considering the blindfolded cones had no idea was walk this way means. In the end, the girls sort of got the hang of it....the boys on the other hand just kind of stampeded through all of the chairs and tables that were in their way.

For the teachers and teacher-aids--and even the other kids who were waiting their turns--it was really amusing. It was fun to see how each kid took the challenge.

Day One of VBS: success
