Nikon EM

Sometimes God happens to work in the coolest of ways. Last night I was thinking of going back to the Salvation Army to check out those old film cameras I saw last time. First thing when I got up, I drove up there and started looking around. There were so many cool Minoltas and I even found a Canon. But then I looked up and found this beautiful Nikon EM in the case, and since I am a Nikonite, I immediately knew I wanted to buy it. Thing is, the price was $49.99 and I only brought 50 bucks...

BUT today just happened to be Thursday, which means all students get a discount when they show their IDs to the cashiers. I asked the lady if the discount applied to the cameras and she said yes!! SO I got this 1979 Nikon EM SLR for approximately $35 and had enough money to buy a package of film too! It even came with a very cool and colorful vintage-looking strap complete with a "I climbed Castle Rock St. Ignace, Mich" pin on it! I'm thinking about taking all my pins and pinning them to the strap to continue what the previous owner started.

When I was confused about how to work the camera, a man who was a previous photographer randomly showed up next to me and taught me certain functions while also giving me a little bit of history of photography!

Currently, I'm trying to figure out how to use it correctly. I've loaded the film and it seems to be working properly but I don't exactly know for sure. Going to go out soon to ask how to better work my new camera! It'll be best friends with my D60. :)
