The Savoy

I would like to use today's blip to say congratulations and well done to Holli Ugalde an American chef who won the Amercian version of Hell's Kitchen and who has been appointed by Gordon Ramsay as the new head chef at the Savoy.

Holli is a 24-year old Californian with a five year old son who was persuaded to go for an audition for the show by friends.

The Savoy has been closed for refurbishment since December 2007 and is due to re-open on 10th October. The refurbishment work has cost an estimated £220 million.

I have been lucky enough to have tea at the Savoy when we took my Mum there for her 80th birthday.
