To Crinan
The wind had now come round to the south east - excellent for a trip to the south west, though we decided on a late start as unfavourable tides further south meant that an early start would be of no benefit. And we could breakfast!
A fine sail for three hours down to Easdale with occasional showers and one notable tack which we buggered up too near the cliffs for my liking, but then the wind came round to the south, so we got the engine on again - after all the Crinan lock-keepers knock off at some point and we wanted into the canal before then. Fantastic views down the sound of Luing and past Scarpa. Sometimes so eery with the tidal races and abandoned cottages by the shore. That's Fladda light above with Scarpa in the background.
We made it to Crinan and into the canal and rafted up with some friendly sorts at the bottom of lock 13. A mile to walk to the Cairnbaan hotel for a beer! Such an investment in walking time - another beer had to follow the first...
