Northern view

The pale blue of the northern sky (I'm at latitude 58 north) shines through the broken house in the picture. It stands off the road in the village of Arnol, part of my itinerary for my birthday today. Thanks.
I'm not being deliberately gloomy, but it is evocative of many a village in this island - littered with houses, abandoned by those gone overseas, or beyond this life. The blue sky is that of a promise - there will be a better day to come. And in my case, I deliberately went north today, to escape the rain in the south. I found sun in the north, here at Arnol. I hope that one day, someone will have a happy life in the house, or in a new house on the same site.
