Arklow Jets
One of the great curses of modern urban living is graffiti. Leaving aside any arguments over the art worthiness of graffiti, no one likes to have their buildings daubed with unauthorised doodles, pictures etc. My local town council, faced with this problem, came up with what for them was a brilliant idea...provide a designated wall for the artists to use, paint it over every so often and let them start again. Simple, efficient and effective. There is practically no spoiling of public places now.
The wall is that of the local sports and leisure centre which is also home to the Arklow Jets Basketball team, so this logo has not been overpainted and now forms part of the sign work of the building. Neat, yes?
