Doe den tap toe....

......as the Dutch would say, or the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

The evening started well with a very nice meal in the The Dogs restaurant, which was appreciated by my gastronome cousins. I think they came expecting Scottish food to be crap and have been pleasently surprised by the quality and reasonable prices - if, of course, tourist traps are avoided.

Next to the château for the musical and quirky humour fest that is the Tattoo. JP was quite moved during the opening massed pipes and drums. The programme was good, but I've seen better and the photographers buzzing about in front of the artists were getting on everyone's nerves......bloody photographers eh?

An excellent night was finished off with a nightcap in the Roxburgh Hotel.
