Soccer

This picture was from Loren's 1st soccer practice tonight. He was a bit nervous since he has never been on a soccer team before, and most of the team has been together for 6 years already. He was relieved when he found out how much he liked it. This month is mainly going to be spent on conditioning, so he was worn out after tonight. His team name is the 'Thunderbirds'.

Today was also his 2nd day of middle school and his 1st night of homework already. His class schedule is:

---Earth Science
---Advisory
---P.E.
---Pre-Algebra
---Humanities (english, reading, language arts, history/social studies)
---Drama

I got a real chuckle out of the elective they assigned him---Drama! That is not really his thing, but they switch electives every 9 weeks. They also really stress organizational and study skills, so advisory is going to help a great deal with that. One day he has Advisory, the next day is P.E. They switch back and forth every other day. His binder is already organized and set up for each class as insisted by the teachers. I had a ton of syllabuses to fill out and sign...along with all of the other paperwork for each school! I was wondering why I had more homework than they did. I stayed up until almost midnight doing it all!
