Playing Football in The Park

Less than 2 weeks now til Boy goes, and yet his pace of life doesn't stop!

Today it was football with mates!

This isn't any football game, this is a game which goes on for around 3 hours. The gang congregate at the school playing field, those same playing fields which the council are trying to use as a building site for a new school. They play two on two, or a big game with everyone. There is a wide range of ages of boys there, but it is all boys!

I wanted to get a photo of him playing with them, and we weren't sure at which side of the playing fields they would be on. It is a big playing field.

We started at one side, and realised we had opted for the wrong end. My first photo was a dots in the distance, even with a lens!

We drove the mile around and I came up behind a wall which was too tall for me to see over, so I had to place the camera on the wall, and click and hope! I didn't want him to see me snapping him, I wanted a candid shot!

As I stood there clicking away, camera above my head, a woman walked past me and looked on horrified - "I'm photographing my son", I exclaimed, "I just don't want him to see me".

And then thought I should make a hasty retreat lest I get arrested for child spotting!
