Apricots

Each year Ildi makes her own special jam from fresh apricots bought locally. This year, however, her local supplier had none due to the season?s wet climate.

After checking out the internet, we set off for the village of Budajeno, to the west of the city. We found the establishment and, sampling the fruit from many different varieties of tree, chose from crates of fresh apricots stacked outside the doorway to the owner?s home.

Sadly I had to return to the UK before I could help with the preparation of the jam, but I look forward to tasting it on my next visit.
