It Was Full Steam Ahead, Destination Unknown

When I was little I believed in a scary god who would smite you down as soon as look at you.

When I was little I believed that by the time I was 18, there would be no grass or trees anywhere, houses would have been built on it all.

When I was little, I thought there was a real prospect that on an evening when the sun was setting, large in the sky, it might just land on us.

When I was little, I thought that life would take forever to pass.

When I was little, I thought that S.E.X. was something unspeakable.

When I was little, I had no concept of being a mother.

When I was little, I believed that there was magic everywhere.

Now I'm older, I believe there is a greater good.

Now I'm older, I understand my Geography Teacher was exaggerating.

Now I'm older, I think I get the whole earth/gravity/sun millions of miles thing.

Now I'm older, I wish there were more hours in the day to fill everything in.

Now I'm older, I wish I could remember to do sex quietly.

Now I'm older, I can't remember a time, when my heart didn't belong to my kids.

Now I'm older, I think there is still magic Everywhere - I took the pegs because of the pretty colours in the evening sky. But Look at the Wee Spider! Magic!
