Refining the Edges

Bright lights and buttercups

My raised veggie beds are so boringly green that I planted colourful little Portulaca plants at the edge to brighten up that part of the garden. I enjoy them so much. They're very hardy, withstanding dry, poor soil. I water and feed them anyway, to try to get the most out of their cheery little faces. The buttercup squash leaves above are so large and the blossoms will be out soon. It's a hot summer and the plants really like it.
