Pacific Giant

My new tripod bag was at the ParcelForce depot in Aberdeen at 06:14 this morning according to their tracking system, but never made it the last 20 miles to me, so much for their 24hr express service :-(

Enough complaining from me ...

This is a shot taken using the tripod of one of the flowers on a Pacific Giant delphiniumin in our garden. Usually these are very tall (hence the name !) but this year its only about 1m (3 ft), maybe its on its last legs or a victim of last winter.

I've never looked closely at one of these flowers before, but the bit in the middle reminds me of a bee, so i'm wondering if that is to make other bees think there is a bee there and head on in ?
