Salt Dough (2)

Tried another batch of salt dough last night, and, apart from the saucers (which puffed up badly so have been binned) the cups and milk jug and sugar bowl all came out pretty good! Not bad for only my second attempt.

The first lot are still drying out - I'd set the oven too low...

Anyways. This lot have been painted, blue and cream, they'll go well with the colours in Ben's bedroom - I'm using up the tester pots of paint!

I've been thinking more about them as heirlooms. At the moment, if they survive more than a month of Ben playing with them, I'll be impressed. It'll give me more practise, making further tea sets. And maybe once I'm really really good at them, I'll make them out of something more..... durable.

Or I might be sick to death of making tea sets!!
