Hunter College

We have had cloudy weather and incessant rain for the last couple of days. This shot of Hunter College on Upper Eastside (Manhattan) is perhaps not altogether complementary. It looks more like a prison than an educational establishment :)

Thomas Hunter, an Irish immigrant, founded this college in 1870 for women. Originally, a women's college, it is now co-ed and specialises in liberal arts and sciences.
