Summer Fling, don't mean a thing, but Oh....
Tonight I had a picture in my mind. I went to the Ballast Banking in Troon.
The sky is very dramatic today, and I figured I would be able to capture the dark skies, and the bright sunset mingled over the top of the roofs of the town.
It was not to be. The light was such, and my lack of knowledge about camera settings was such that I couldn't pick a clear shot. Pixels were cloudy and fuzzy.
I took what I hoped to be silouhettes - which picked out all the colours I couldn't see, and fuzzied my foreground. I snapped a Kayaker on the water - who turned out to be my neighbour, but I couldn't see him til I seen the photo.
I took the view finder, but it was grubby, and the background of the town looks shabby!
I took the woodmill, which surprisingly at this time of night was exceptionally busy. Sawing, Chopping, vans, forklifts, a real hive of activity, and a lot of noise.
I took a radio ham who was chatting to a large oil tanker moored off shore.
I took a fishing boat heading out to sea for a night's catch.
Then we headed home. , and we spotted my daughter heading with her mates towards the water.
They love the sea. This is the "thing" right now. They head down to the water at every available opportunity and swim or paddle. Seeing as they are in their clothes, I would presume that they are only going to paddle tonight, and as the sun is setting i would HOPE so.
I took a couple of angles of them from behind them, and then I drove a little way back along the beach to catch them in the sunset.
The colours are gorgeous and gentle, - belying the fact that there was a mountain of heavy black clouds waiting to spill their load, to my left. I have no doubt she will come home soaked - either from sea or sky. But no worry. It's only wet, and think of the memories they are making.
