Marjorie's ramblings

Could this be love?

This morning I joined poet Simon Armitage, http://www.simonarmitage.com on a leg of his Pennine Way walk. I walked from Once Brewed just to Cawfields Quarry and caught the bus back. I wanted to walk all the way to Greenhead, but I have other things I must do this afternoon (packing for Bulgaria for one).

Just after I left the Pennine Way I walked alongside a suckling herd. The bull was licking the face of the white cow and I managed to grab the camera and catch one shot. The cow then turned tail and started to walk slowly away. The bull thought his luck was in and followed. The cow led him a short way along the field - she negotiated it with no problem - but the bull was left sinking into a very boggy area. This somewhat cooled his ardour and the cow was last seen peacefully chewing the buttercups and grasses!!
