camping

so, last night we had a few wines, by a few i mean bottles, not glasses and we got talking about about holidays, We were feeling sorry for ourselves as we havent been on holiday for a loooong time, infact freya has never been on holiday, and now thanks to the recession, lack of work, the fact I dont work etc we havent been able to afford to go, so last night, under the influence I caved in to the idea of camping, I believe I might have suggested it :o we decided we could go away at weekends, (Rob is self employed so getting away during the week means no money)

Rob held me to my stupid idea today and we went to get a new tent in the sales. great.

We ended up with a rather nice looking family tent with seperate bedrooms for half price, we thought we would have a go at putting it up in our very small garden, well there lies a recipe for a breakdown in a relationship.

ROB: hold this bit while I do this bit
ME: Ok (gets distracted by something) drops tent
ROB: FFS
ME: WHAAAAT ???
ROB: can you bang a peg in there ?
ME: yup *bangs peg in*
ROB: thts not at a 45 degree angle
ME: fuck off

etc etc etc .... Tent too big for garden, Rob (big mouth) has told freya we will all sleep in it tonight, cue hysteria from freya who is over tired anyway, we pack away tent, and wonder how the buggery the factory fitted in to a bag so small, Rob gets the old tent out to stop small child from screaming and we put that up, .... Thats not a 45 degree angle, ... fuck off etc etc yet again.

Bedtime, freya in pjs, has a story, goes to bed in tent, me and rob sit in the garden, a face appears from the tent "I cant sleep in here mummy" I lose the will to live. "Why not ?" Freya sighs " Weeeeeeeell I cant listen to my music so I cant sleep, can i get in my own bed now?"

FFS, really, why do we bend over backwards to make a kid happy only for them to not give a bugger ? :D on the plus side i dont have to sleep in a tent tonight, I did try the new sleeping bag out though ! Rob took the photo so i should apologise for the quality now !
